The founders of All Ways Pacific, John and Kaye Rankin both hail from New Zealand.
After living in Australia, John travelled to the UK in 1972. He spent eight years in the Overland Industry and then ten years operating ski holidays to Europe and North America. With a burning ambition to operate holidays to the county of his birth, All Ways Pacific was born in 1992. John is the Managing Director of All Ways Pacific and can be contacted on john@all-ways.co.uk.
Kaye left her homeland in 1976 and travelled through Asia and on to Switzerland in Europe. Working in London for Trafalgar Tours and later British Airways she gained a strong background in Tour Operations. Kaye is the Product Manager of All Ways Pacific and oversees all ground product, specifically accommodation, and can be contacted on kaye@all-ways.co.uk.

Where have you travelled in New Zealand/Australia/South Pacific? All over Australia. North and South Island New Zealand. Fiji, Cook Islands and Tahiti & Her Islands (Bora Bora, Rangiroa)
What is your favourite place in the region? The laid-back lifestyle and beauty of Tropical North Queensland is sheer heaven and the isolated beaches of Western Australia are breathtaking, but I'm always drawn in by the colours, landscape and seemingly never ending horizon of the Outback
Name a memorable experience you have had whilst travelling: I have been blessed by a wide variety of wonderful travel adventures, but flying by helicopter over the vast Bullo River Station in the Northern Territory to meet the stockmen at their muster camp was pretty unforgettable
What do you particularly enjoy about your role within All Ways Pacific? I love working directly with our suppliers in Australia to bring a wide and varied product choice to our clients. Brochure production and website development bring my knowledge and first-hand experiences into a tangible form
Give one piece of advice you would offer potential long haul travellers: Get straight into the local time zone of wherever you're travelling - in this instance, I like to believe the mind is stronger than the body!!

Where have you travelled in New Zealand/Australia/South Pacific? North and South Island New Zealand. All over Australia - some areas in more detail than others. Tahiti and the Cook Islands
What is your favourite place in the region? That's a really hard question. It's a tough choice between The Whitsundays in QLD, The Gibb River Road in WA, Abel Tasman National Park in NZ and Le Taha'a Island Resort & Spa in French Polynesia. But I think the Gibb River Road has the edge - is there anywhere else like it on earth?!
Name a memorable experience you have had whilst travelling: In March 2009 I went on holiday to Tasmania with my husband. We got up early to hike to Wineglass Bay on the Freycinet Peninsula. The perfect beach in the perfect location, with not a soul in sight nor a cloud in the sky. As we were wandering barefoot along the pristine white sand, a pod of dolphins swam into the bay and put on a private show for us. It doesn't get much better than that.
What do you particularly enjoy about your role within All Ways Pacific? I love putting together holidays tailored to the clients' individual interests, and try to provide an itinerary within the allocated time and budget that is manageable as well as exciting. I put myself in their shoes and try to imagine what I would want to see and where I would like to go. A great form of escapism.
Give one piece of advice you would offer potential long haul travellers: Don't try to do too much in one trip. It's supposed to be a holiday - not a boot camp
Name one place you would like to go that you haven't yet been: The Bay of Islands... or Mount Cook... or Tokoriki Island Resort in Fiji (or Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort in French Polynesia). There are too many to mention!
