Company History

In 1991 New Zealanders Kaye and John Rankin (with 3 young children) embarked on a remarkable tour of New Zealand and Australia. Six months later, having travelled from Perth through the Red Centre and down the east coast of Australia and right throughout New Zealand, they returned to the UK with a wealth of knowledge, experience and most importantly contacts.

All Ways Pacific Travel was formed in 1992 with the objective of offering a very personal and tailor made holiday service to New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific. Their mission statement remains today: To provide the choice, service and recommendations that ensure that each and every client's expectations are exceeded.

John Rankin's passion for sport (particularly Rugby & Cricket) led to a partnership with the Daily Telegraph that culminated in a large group of supporters travelling to New Zealand for the British Lions tour in 1993. Sport has always played a large role in the company's development and All Ways Sports has taken many thousands of enthusiastic supporters on Lion's tours to South Africa (1997), Australia (2001) and New Zealand (2005). The company was also an Official Agent for the Rugby World Cup in South Africa in 1995 and Australia in 2003 and for many years the Hong Kong Sevens.

England Cricket tours to the Southern Hemisphere have also resulted in many groups of supporters on various itineraries, with many highlights during Ashes tours. In the 1994/95 series when the third test in Perth followed the second in Adelaide, All Ways Sports chartered most of the Indian Pacific train (in the company of Denis Compton) to transport many hundreds of supporters between these cities. During the 2006/07 Ashes all the company's supporters enjoyed the New Years Eve fireworks from the comfort of a cruise boat on Sydney Harbour.

In 1995 and again in close cooperation with the Daily Telegraph, All Ways Pacific launched a fully escorted tour to New Zealand 'The Magic of New Zealand'. The tour was an instant success and formed the basis of a regular series including the 'Visions of Australia', with both tours continuing today.

In 2001 the company was awarded the prestigious "New Zealand Travel Specialist of the Year" by New Zealand Tourism, "Best Advertising Campaign" in 2003 and "Best Product Development" in 2004.

Seventeen years on and All Ways Pacific have stayed true to their philosophy and continue to offer a comprehensive range of services on its Independent Touring programme and a diverse range of fully Escorted Tours.
