About Australia
Australia is a huge country of vast distances, awesome landscapes, and wide variety. Contrast the savage splendour of the outback and the majesty of Uluru (Ayers Rock) with the beauty of the tropical north and its rainforests.
Laze on the longest and emptiest beaches in
the world, cruise the Murray River, or snorkel off the Great Barrier Reef. Visit the bustling, buzzing cosmopolitan cites with their modern culture and architecture, or discover ancient Aboriginal sites and the indigenous art of Australia's native people.
An all year destination the sheer size of the country leads to widely differing climatic conditions.
Being in the southern hemisphere spring begins in September, summer in December, autumn in March and winter
in June. However above the Tropic of Capricorn the average temperature ranges from 23-26C. Rain in these
areas tends to fall in the summer months. In the south it's more temperate with many sunny days in winter
but generally cooler temperatures.
In Australia you are able to eat and drink extremely well. The variety of cuisine could not be better with
influences from the Mediterranean and South East Asia offering a diverse range of restaurants that cater
for all tastes and budgets. Award wining wines and vineyards are abundant and once again offer
excellent value.
